Presentation Take 1....

Many of you are wondering why I have not talked about my presentation. Well now I am. I was thinking of making a video of some kind of dance. I am not the only one choreographing. I have tried asking my dance friends but, they thought I was finished with what I was saying and started talking to their other friends. At least I tried! Since I do not have any volunteers to choreograph part of my presentation, my time to make the script and the video will be postponed.

Next, I will be posting about improvisation and maybe post some of my old, 2010, dance competition videos from Starquest!

  JUST KEEP SMILING!!!!!!!!:)

Your love is....

Dance is Life. Long time ago, one of my dance teachers made my dance friends and I come and sit in a circle. She put a tissue box in the middle of the circle. We talked about why we love dance and it soon became into a confession circle. Many of my friends said the same thing I did,

Not just because it is fun. I love it because I can just forget all my stress and worries about what happened before I come to dance. Its so therapeutic.
I sometimes use dance to get rid of the fact that I am not aloud to talk or see my stepbrother, Luke Luster, anymore because he's changed. He even had to go to court to see if he was pronounced incorrigible or not.

In my next two blogs I will be talking about Improvisation and one about my presentation to the class.

Trouble

I have a big problem. My blog is turning into a regular blog. My blog is not talking about what I am doing for my genius hour project. No research and pretty much no process. There are so many ways for me to show the class about my genius hour project. Like make a model of the old raked stage ( boring), choreograph and perform a dance from a different country ( that would be fun but, my problem with getting up in front of a small group of people would eat me up.)  Just video tape one of  my classes (Make a mashup). I dont know if I could do that or not ( teachers might say no) and I am not really good at making a videos or anything really with camera except taking horrible pictures. I also have a good idea that I might do a genius hour project about my cats and making a video of them. But someone else is already doing a project on animals.  If you have any suggestions please comment on my blog below!

5 types of Ballet Dance:

In the last post I told you about me and what my topic is. Now I have not figured out what kind of project that I am going to do yet. But, now I am going to tell you about ballet. Ballet is the kind of dance that a lot of us wish we could mimic, given the way the dancers glide over the dance floor, often a dance that portrays a story or idea. This dance was developed in France and Russia. Classical ballet is the most formal and common style of ballet. Apart from this, there is Neoclassical ballet and Contemporary ballet.

There are five different types that I can think of right out of my head Vaganova, Cecchetti, Royal Academy of Dance, Balanchine, and Bournonville. Im going to tell you the ways they are different.

Vaganova is mostly refered to Russian ballet. Its style is about continuous flow of movement rather than isolation of certain body parts.

Cecchetti favors clean lines and precise technigue, preferring a simpler style of ballet that focuses on the basics rather than all the other attractive bells and ribbons.

Royal Academy of Dance is the system of learning took the best elements of both the Cecchetti and Vaganova systems and fused them together to create a more rounded dancer who has a solid technique yet can be gentle and express emotions through their dancing.

Balanchine which is a modern technique mostly studied in America.  Modern dance involves the use of many dance steps that are unusual and often interpret a dancer's emotions and mood. The dancer in this case typically performs on bare feet. In Modern dance, it's not only the choreography that speaks about the emotions to be conveyed. The lighting, costumes and props are used with great creativity to arrange interesting and unusual dance sequences. Balanchine was named after George Balanchine, one of the most famous Russian choreographers of the 20th century.

Bournonville is an almost forgotten style that refers to a very classical type of ballet which told Danish folklore tales.
